How to Know the Wildflowers
September Workshop
Sponsored by the Friends of Goose Pond
The workshop is based on Newcomb’s Wildflower Guide which many naturalists and nature lovers consider an ingenious tool for identifying common wildflowers, vines, and shrubs.
This 3.5 hour course is intended for you to establish a long-term skill using this book . . . for a deeper and continued interest in wild plants.
Plant identification can be as much fun as bird watching and is often better suited to one’s leisure. But it – like any hobby or serious interest – will require practice beyond what is possible in any workshop.
You should take this course if you have more than just a casual interest in wild plants and would like to be able to identify wildflowers on your own.
