2009 Summer Reading Program

2009 Summer Reading Program

May 27th – Kickoff Celebration

The Wizard of OZ

The Linton Public Library is proud to present two performances of this wonderful puppet show by Stevens Puppets of Arkansas, celebrating their 75th year of producing unforgettable and one of a kind marionette productions for children of all ages. Their marionettes are authentically created in the traditional old world style, specializing in classic children’s literature and fairy tales. One performance will be held during the day and another that evening.

We are so excited about this year’s summer reading program. Some of our plans include a performance of Shakespeare’s Ear by Early Music in Motion of Bloomington, a visit and demonstration by world-renowned potter Rogier Donker, an instrument petting zoo from the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, tie-dying t-shirts, a rock concert, a pavement Picasso chalk art contest, a lock-in and many more fun art and music related activities!

This year’s summer program will again feature some FANTASTIC prizes for our summer readers! We will be giving away tickets to Kings Island, Holiday World, food coupons, and toys just to name a few.

Watch for more information coming soon and keep checking out our website!
